Being Human In an Evolving World

Updated: Nov 6

Where is our home? Usually, the answer is here where we live, and if we want to be even more accurate, it is wherever our bodies are. And as our world evolves, especially in the realm of technology. It becomes even more significant to become aware of our human structure and simplify our way of being.

It is no secret that AI will be part of our lives, as the internet has become a daily tool; being without it is unthinkable. And the same will happen with AI. You might already have had direct experiences during doctor visits.

Because AI will become part of our daily lives, not by choice but by circumstance, we must act with urgency to build our capacity to understand and excel as human beings in the bodies we carry day in and day out.

You might wonder, well, yes, of course, duh! But how much time do we invest in actually practicing that part? In my current Debunk AI Workshop, the focus is not on denying or disproving AI; instead, it's on enhancing our human experiences while using it and coping with the overwhelm of trying to be everything to everyone all at once. And on how to raise our awareness of our mind and body as we further expose ourselves to increased pressure, speed, and information overload of technology.

It is so much easier to learn something new that we don't know much about than to explore further and more in depth with something we don't have to do anything in particular for it to work, for example, our brain. Our brain, like a computer, takes in all the information through the senses and processes it into something we can relate to. It takes effort to train our brains to process information in ways that benefit us in the long run. There's a lot of discipline involved in not getting persuaded by comfort.

There's also the aspect of a beginner's mind, which means we're taking a closer look at something we are accustomed to doing and seeing it through a new lens. Think like a beginner, especially when it comes to our human bodies, which are highly automated, and expand our horizons from a perspective we have never encountered before.

Just this past week, I decided not to have any artificial sugar, including Halloween. That definitely stretched my comfort zone and my brain. Knowing that it's possible, I know we can do so much more than we are willing to admit. It's the instant gratification that challenges us to push through to the outcome we are seeking. With too much technology in our lives, we don't always allow ourselves to witness those accomplishments because we want life to be easy and quick.

What we need is something that will support us no matter what new changes we will face in our lives. Here are the seven human experiences we can focus on and explored during the 28-Day Practice in September/October 2025 that enhance life:

  1. Breath

  2. Movement

  3. Stillness

  4. Engagement

  5. Space

  6. Body-Mind

  7. Awareness

If we pay more attention to the simple practices of being human, we can improve on many levels, from learning a new skill set, like AI, to deepening our knowledge and awareness of what it means to be human. And the most beautiful thing about that practice is, it will bring us home. A home that will remain with us until the last breath we take.

So, look in the mirror and ask yourself: which of the seven topics above do I want to pay more attention to today? Keep it simple; your body will thank you.

Welcome home. Our human existence depends on it.
